Dr. Goldberger is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He is an active participant in several local ophthalmology societies and numerous other continuing education venues.

Dr. Goldberger has performed thousands of cataract extractions with intraocular lens implants in his thirty-three years of practice and has been performing the technically demanding small-incision type of surgery for more than twenty years.  He completed a mini-fellowship in LASIK and Refractive Surgery in Bogota, Columbia, the birthplace of refractive surgery under the auspices of ISRS and the world-renowned Barraquer Institute.  He has been involved in clinical research trials for pharmaceutical companies and intraocular lens implant manufacturers.  Dr. Goldberger was one of the first local ophthalmologists to perform ophthalmic surgery in an outpatient setting at one of the countries first ambulatory surgical facilities.
