Alan Mendelsohn, MD, FACS
Dr. Mendelsohn is a Bascom Palmer Eye Institute fellowship-trained specialist and a leading laser cataract surgeon in South Florida. With over 30 years of experience, his pioneering work in cataract surgery has been widely recognized, including a featured publication in 2017. Alan Mendelsohn MD has performed far more than 30,000 cataract surgeries with extremely pleased patients who have stellar visual outcomes.
For the past decade, Dr. Mendelsohn has focused exclusively on cataract surgery—performed as a standalone procedure or combined with glaucoma surgery—making him a trusted expert for patients seeking the highest level of care. More than 200 physicians and their family members have chosen Dr. Mendelsohn for their cataract surgery, a testament to his skill and dedication.
Dr. Mendelsohn is actively involved in every stage of care, from pre-operative planning to post-operative follow-up, and ensures his patients have direct access to him via his personal cell phone. In addition to laser cataract procedures, he offers a full range of in-office ocular laser treatments, comprehensive eye exams, and second opinions.
Alec J. Chaleff, MD
Dr. Chaleff is a premier cataract and refractive surgery specialist with advanced training in complex anterior segment surgery. Board-certified and highly experienced, he provides patients with the latest in cataract care, including Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery and premium lens implants such as PanOptixPro and Toric PanOptixPro intraocular lenses.
Unlike many ophthalmologists who perform a wide variety of unrelated surgeries, Dr. Chaleff focuses exclusively on laser cataract surgery, delivering meticulous, high-quality results with exceptional visual outcomes. Nathan Klein, OD
Dr. Klein brings over a decade of experience improving vision through customized eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions. Using the latest technologies, he optimizes vision for activities such as night driving, computer work, and reading.
A recognized expert in scleral contact lenses, Dr. Klein helps patients achieve sharper vision, longer lens-wearing time, and enhanced comfort—particularly for those with dry eyes, keratoconus, irregular astigmatism, or Sjogren’s Syndrome. He also specializes in pediatric myopia management, offering individualized strategies including specialty lenses, low-dose atropine eye drops, and myopia-control spectacles.
Dr. Klein is a leading expert in managing chronic Dry Eye Disease, utilizing cutting-edge treatments and devices such as next-generation collagen punctal plugs and Lacrifill. His gentle approach ensures patients achieve lasting relief, comfort, and freedom from complicated eye-drop routines.

Our three eye physicians offer comprehensive and multi-specialty ophthalmology services for the entire family. For the convenience of our patients we offer early morning appointments. We also are open on Sunday mornings. We handle emergencies on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis and we allow time in every day for urgent same-day care. We respect our patients by being committed to minimal waiting room time and efficient and thorough medical care. In addition, our office staff is fluent in Spanish.
